America first – Upper Hutt second

Upper Hutt’s community engagement programme My Upper Hutt got a shot in the arm after teaming up with Wellington agency Crestani Communications to make its own America First online video.

“Crestani put a local spin on internet use by engaging the creative talent of Upper Hutt Donald Trump impersonator Alexander Sparrow, helped along with a script that lovingly spoofed Upper Hutt culture and took the micky out of Mayor Wayne Guppy,” Crestani’s Tara Merriman told M+AD.

The brief was to build community spirit and increase online engagement.

Posted late Thursday, Upper Hutt Second had more than 98,000 views by MondaymMorning with hundreds of engagements and comments from ‘Huttites’ at home and around the globe. To date there has been a fivefold increase in followers on the My Upper Hutt Facebook page.

“As Donald would say, That’s huge!”
