APN Outdoor, in partnership with the NZ Olympic Committee and Saatchi & Saatchi aim to take outdoor creativity to new heights with a one-of-a-kind execution driving awareness of the Winter Olympics.

Starting this week, the bespoke campaign can be seen on APN Outdoor’s Albert St billboard in Auckland’s CBD – a site that attracts more than 2.2 million contacts a month.

The tagline Anyone can fly, few can land is complemented by aerial ski jumpers cleverly placed to go beyond the billboard canvas. The extensions are printed on perspex, adding approximately 1.5 metres in height to the existing site and creates the effect of the skier’s being airborne.

“This is only the beginning of a series of creative executions expected over the next two years.”

APN Outdoor NZ GM Mike Watkins said: “We are so pleased to work with Saatchi & Saatchi to further amplify the impact of our outdoor formats and show our ongoing support to our partner, the NZOC and our athletes as they take on the world at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and the Commonwealth Games through to 2020.”

NZOC commercial director Sharon van Gulik said. “We knew APN Outdoor would bring the very best in outdoor advertising, together with a commitment to creativity and pushing boundaries for our team. What better way to tell the stories of our incredible Winter Olympians as they take on the world in Pyeongchang.”

Saatchi CCO Toby Talbot said: “The execution is a first since APN Outdoor joined forces with the NZOC in November last year and is only the beginning of a series of creative executions expected over the next two years.”
