APN Outdoor’s digital overhaul at Auckland Airport continues with launch of two new hi-res digital screens. The first advertisers on the sites are Huawei, Steinlager Pure, Skoda, Cigna, Tourism Asia, Vodafone and Corona.

Located in the International and Domestic terminals between two Flight Information Displays (FID), each screen measures 6×2 metres with a total screen resolution of 1920×384 pixels. The screens utilise the highest quality LED resolution currently available to provide cutting-edge clarity and closer viewing angles, never before seen on large format advertising.

Advertisers who take advantage of the option to extend their campaign across both exit ports will have exposure to over 300,000 travellers every two weeks.

“APN Outdoor’s leadership of digital Outdoor innovation in New Zealand is not only refreshing but an exciting indication of their intent,” said Vizeum (the media agency for Huawei) business director Richard Hale.

“Their innovative LED FID digital technology not only looks impressive but more importantly, enables the ability for Huawei to highlight multiple product features throughout the campaign period – a key reason for choosing this platform.

“In addition, Auckland Airport offers a perfect environment for consumers to take in multiple messages due to the long dwell times. Overall we felt it was a very effective way to deliver on our campaign objectives, both in terms of value and impact.”

Advertising for both screens is sold in two-week cycles.

With no traffic safety issues to contend with, advertising content can include the option of full movement animation, says APNO general manager Phil Clemas. “Additionally, the strategic location of both screens provides APN Outdoor advertisers with high dwell-time opportunities –ideal for brands looking to design interactive campaigns with passengers.

“As part of the redevelopment of the International terminal, APN Outdoor carried out a significant de-cluttering of the area to reinstate the premium nature of this key advertising space,” Clemas said.

“We are very proud of our two new FID screens and if early demand is anything to go by our advertisers are equally pleased. Both the International and Domestic screens have sold out for the first two cycles with much of the remaining rotations sold through to early 2015 as well.”

APN Outdoor’s redevelopment of the Outdoor advertising at Auckland Airport is currently under way with a completion date scheduled for February 2015. The two new FID screens are now live.
