Paralympics NZ has appointed marketer Rachel Froggatt to the new role of commercial & marketing director: Froggatt – who was recuited from Germany – is a Kiwi with 15 years’ experience in the international sports & media comms business.

Previously, she’s worked with Allianz, Shell, Ford, and Wrigley, and has led programmes across F1 and other motorsports, football, athletics, paralympics, rugby, golf and cricket. She has strong relationships with the Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault F1 Teams, FC Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, the International Paralympic Committee and St Andrews links and the Oval.

She has also collaborated with the IRB, FIA, FIFA and UEFA; Lionel Messi, Michael Schumacher, Paul McGinley and Lewis Hamilton.

She spent three years with the Australian Red Cross disaster relief and sports fundraising teams and for two years she handled all PR for a former UK Metropolitan Police commissioner.

Her most recent role was as global sponsorhip strategy director with Grey Group.

“This new role is critical in helping us ensure that New Zealand paralympians are best supported to perform on the international stage and to help us in our continued efforts to promote social change for the 1.1 million Kiwis living with a disability,” said PNZ ceo Fiona Allan.

In her new role, Froggatt aims to provide commercial partners with an inspiring and exclusive opportunity to assist some of New Zealand’s best athletes to win on the international stage, while helping people in our own backyard.

“I was very lucky to attend the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games and I remember the overwhelming feeling of pride I had when the New Zealand team entered the stadium, a feeling I saw replicated amongst my friends and family back home,” Froggatt said. “Paralympic sport is unique in that it is a movement that both empowers individuals and is a vehicle for changing society. I am thrilled to be joining Paralympics NZ at such a pivotal moment in its development.”
