Auckland-based digital outfitters BKA has promoted Dane Tatana to general manager: Tatana was formerly an account director at the company. He succeeds Steve Allison who has changed roles to focus on bka Interactive’s business-to-business app Go Team marketed through sibling company bkaBoom.

BKA ceo Barb Anderson says Tatana has extensive international experience managing digital departments and teams for growth.

“He has been with us for only a short while but has already demonstrated a strong, positive approach combined with energy, industry knowledge and professionalism – not to mention a great dress sense,” Anderson said.

Tatana’s key responsibilities include managing the direction of the business and overseeing its creative, account services and production activities with a focus on growth.

Previously he has worked in London, Sydney and Auckland in consulting and creative roles. He joined BKA in July 2014.

Icebreaker has appointed Kate Winstone as regional marketing manager for New Zealand and Australia: She will be responsible for optimising and executing the global brand and seasonal marketing programmes across all Southern Hemisphere sales channels and consumer touchpoints.

“We are thrilled to bring Kate to the Icebreaker team as we expand the business to represent multi-channel offerings for consumers,” said Icebreaker Australasia general manager Greg Smith. “Kate’s strong consumer product and retail experience will be an incredible asset to the Icebreaker team as the business reaches its third decade.

“Kate is a customer focused and commercial marketer with nine years of experience in multi-national beauty brands across New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Europe. She has a proven track record across the full marketing mix with both luxury & FMCG brands. Most recently, at L’Oréal New Zealand, she worked as a group brand manager for the iconic beauty brands L’Oréal Paris & Garnier.

“Kate also brings significant business-to-business experience through leading marketing communications for salon-exclusive haircare brands Kérastase & Matrix.”

Prior to L’Oréal, Winstone worked as senior brand manager at Revlon UK, developing brand strategy  across the UK  & Europe with a heavy focus on content creation & digital engagement.

She will be based at Icebreaker’s Auckland, New Zealand main headquarters.

Spark Digital has appointed Mark Redgrave as its new head of marketing: This role has been vacant since Hugh McKellar left the company in August 2014 to become the chief operating officer of Finzsoft Solutions.

Between September and November 2014, Donna Fyfe fulfilled the head of marketing responsibilites while Spark Digital searched for a suitable replacement.

Redgrave joins Spark Digital having spent the past four years in San Francisco where he was co-founder and chief revenue officer for OpenAmplify, a social data analysis company. He led business development, sales and marketing for the company and forged strategic partnerships with the likes of Salesforce, Radian6 and Zendesk.

Prior to moving to the States, Redgrave was chief executive of OpenAmplify in London where he managed teams in the United Kingdom, Sweden and the US. He assembled an extensive technology and patent portfolio, launching the world’s first listening platform to extensively use natural language processing for social analytics.

Before this, Redgrave started his career in advertising as part of the HHCL Group in London where he managed campaigns for international clients including Disney, Mercedes, Pepsi and drinks brand Tango.

Spark Digital’s general manager of solutions and services Jo Allison said Redgrave’s international experience and understanding of digital platforms is a huge coup for Spark Digital.

“We’re very excited to have someone of Mark’s calibre joining the team at what is such an important time for us,” she said. “Mark is an accomplished and entrepreneurial executive with a particularly strong blend of product, strategy, sales and marketing expertise.  He will play a leadership role as we focus on delivering the best digital future for New Zealand business.”

Redgrave starts his new role this week.

Yellow has appointed David Roberts to the role of director of digital marketing services, the business unit in charge of Yellow’s digital marketing offering for businesses: Chief executive Michael Boersen said he was pleased to welcome Roberts to the role:

“We’ve made huge progress in our digital offering in recent years and David’s strength in technology, strategy and business growth will be an asset to Yellow. He will bring a great deal to the role and to our executive leadership team.”

Roberts was previously chief marketing officer with Fronde, and before that was general manager of marketing and alliances. Prior to his time at Fronde, he spent seven years in London and working throughout Europe in senior technology roles.

“It’s a great time to be joining Yellow and to be in this, a very dynamic and disruptive market. I’m excited to lead the team helping Yellow customers on their digital journey,” said Roberts.

He replaces Steve Traplin, who is returning to his native Australia with his family.
