Cadbury dumps Saatchi, taps Aussie shop for NZ

Cadbury has saved its evil best for last. Not only has it spanked every good Cadbury chocolate-lovin’ Kiwi by closing its iconic Dunedin factory and taking production offshore – but now it’s handed its ‘local’ ANZ full-service agency account to Ogilvy Melbourne.

Previously, the NZ business was held by Saatchi & Saatchi, but (surprise, surprise) Cadbury has kept the news to itself in this country, handing the info directly to Aussie site Campaign Brief.

Apparently there was a pitch – if so, Cadbury kept that pretty quiet on this side of the Tasman, at least.

The brands include Favourites, Roses, Coco, Old Gold, Cherry Ripe, Picnic, Twirl, Crunchie, Boost and Moro.

“Over the coming weeks, the businesses will work through the transition from existing Australia and New Zealand partner, Saatchi and Saatchi,” reads the report in CB.

Ogilvy remains Cadbury’s partner agency in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Canada. This now consolidates partners working on the Cadbury brand in the region and globally.

VCCP London has been appointed the global lead for Cadbury Dairy Milk.
