Eight has signed “the incredibly talented Dan Max” for Australasian representation, according to a release Katie Millington, the Auckland-based MD/EP of the Transtasman production company.

“Maxy is a director/DOP with a visual narrative focus,” Millington says. “With a background in stills photography, Maxy finds beauty in places and faces.

“Maxy’s competitive nature drives him to make the best out of any job. Big or small, he loves the challenge of a good creative brief. He’ll always go back to the seed of the idea in order to gain a deep understanding of the process before his engagement.

“Collaboration is a huge part of his world as a director and one of the reasons he loves his job.

“Simply put, he gets shit done.”

“This soulful surfer from the North Island of New Zealand is the guy you want to go on the road with. A technician and an artist in equal measure, he’s inquisitive, thoughtful, clued up, hands on and solutions-focused. Simply put, he gets shit done.

Dan Max said: “I’m stoked about this new collaboration with the good folks at Eight. They’re a young, energetic company that’s constantly evolving with the times and they strike a good balance between art and ads.

“They get they are in advertising and they’re passionate about producing award winning work, but they all have their personal love projects going in the background to help fuel inspiration. It’s the perfect vibe for this next stage of my career.”

Millington said: We’re thrilled to have Maxy in the building. He’s got got it all – talent, skill, heart, passion and charisma. The world is his oyster.”
