Serena Williams is said to have won the Australian women’s singles championship back in January while expecting a baby – a prognosis confirmed by a stunning new picture of the six-months-pregnant tennis star on the cover of the latest Vanity Fair.
The striking cover image was shot by the famed American photographer Annie Leibovitz, who’s been capturing the stars of film and rock’n’roll for decades.
In the interview, the 35-year-old Williams – widely held to be the greatest female tennis player ever – says she hopes to be back on the tennis circuit once the baby is born.
The child’s father, and Williams’ fiance, is Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
