Embarrassed by information misstep

Yesterday, M+AD needed to identify ANZ Bank’s previous agencies – due to their omission from a PR release announcing that TBWA, PHD and JustONE had won the bank’s consolidated, nationwide advertising business (scroll down for the link to that story). 

The release also went nowhere near the unsuccessful pitchers – who they were remains a mystery, although you can bet most of the incumbents we identified did defend their turf in the pitch.

A search of M+AD archives uncovered the agencies that ANZ has worked with over the past two years – including FCB and FCB Media, DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA – and Carat (we included the latter in error).

FCB was the incumbent
After our story went out, we received an email from Eleven PR advising us that the incumbent was FCB.
