NZME has appointed Jono Coles as its new executive creative director leading the group creative team. Coles has 16 years’ agency experience and has worked at Young + Shand, 99, Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi and most recently Badger, where he led teams on Vodafone and Fidelity Life. No stranger to radio, Coles began his career at RDU as a copywriter and DJ.

NZME chief marketing officer Liza McNally said Coles is an excellent addition to the team. “Jono brings with him not only a wealth of experience, but a fantastic energy and a talent to produce creative solutions that deliver results,” she said.

“We’re excited to see him bring campaigns to life for both our advertising partners and for our leading portfolio of NZME brands.

Coles said: “It’s awesome to join a company with so many talented people. There’s a real vibe here and NZME has some exciting new ventures in the pipeline too. It’s great to be close to the music again and I’m stoked to be a part of the team.”

Coles commenced his new role on 9 October. He replaces Tracey Fox, who resigned recently.
