Ogilvy media snares 100% of Countdown

Ogilvy Media NZ has expanded its contract with Countdown to include all media strategy and buying activity, making Ogilvy the supermarket chain’s sole media partner.

The agency previously held much of the media business – but some projects were handled by other agencies.

“In the last 18 months, we’ve invested time and resource in creating a step change within our media team,” Ogilvy head of media Rachel Anderson-Cormack told M+AD this morning. “Part of this has been ensuring that we have strong leaders such as group media director Kim Leybourne whose focus is on delivering positive business outcomes for our clients.

“It’s fantastic to see the results of this in the continuing strength of our relationship with Countdown.”

Ogilvy also previously held Countdown creative – but that moved Y&R recently.
