Auckland ad-music production house Smoke Music has welcomed new talent to their ranks, including Joe Faris (the man behind Ezra Vine’s hit tune and TV1 hero sting Celeste), Josh Edmonds (from Nelson alt-pop group Little Oceans), Parris Goebel producer Rory Noble, Berlin-based Simon Hughes and whizkid Will Henderson (who has been known to moonlight on keyboards for the likes of Janine and the Mixtape, Thomston and Theia).

They join Avalanche City hitmaker Dave Baxter, platinum-certified producer Sam de Jong and renowned industry vet Nic Manders.

Smoke is celebrating the new additions with a revamped website, complete with a hero clip that boasts their 24/7 capabilities (that’s it – at the top of this page). The 30-second piece features a bespoke jazz drum soundtrack produced by Joe Faris. It was directed by head creative Chris de Jong.

Hungry for briefs
Smoke’s Kingsland HQ features three project studios, a multipurpose room, hot desks and a fully-equipped main studio upstairs.

“With many of their producers permanent fixtures onsite, Smoke is ready to tackle your brief, be it big, small, bespoke or by-the-book,” says ceo Mark de Jong.
