Back for its second year, Phantom Billstickers have released their Musicians of Aotearoa posters to celebrate NZ Music Month 2018.

Shot as a personal project by photographer Hayley Theyers, the photographs form an ongoing, collectable set.

Taking a lead from Phantom’s Poem Poster and Art Poster initiatives, the series endeavours to cast a spotlight on up-and-coming and underground artists who deserve to be more widely known.

“There’s 12 posters – and yes, they’re all women!”

“Phantom are passionate about New Zealand music and the MOA project is about celebrating the faces behind some of the best music being made right now,” said managing partner Jamie Holloway.

This year’s 12 posters feature: JessB, Sandra Bell, i.e. Crazy, Hollie Fullbrook, Teremoana Rapley, Ducklingmonster, Heather Mansfield, Celia Mancini, Lucy Hunter, Liz Mathews, Demarnia Lloyd and Sjionel Timu.

“Yes,” Holloway said. “That is correct – they are all women. Look out for this unique Phantom poster series on a wall near you during the rest of May.”

“Photograph, collect, share and hashtag their images (#MusiciansOfAotearoa). Then do yourself a favour – and seek out their music.”
