Are you an intermediate to senior level Creative Copywriter with proven experience writing for digital? Our client, a boutique independent advertising agency in Grey Lynn, Aucklandis looking for a new writer to join them.

You will be tasked with creating and delivering both first class traditional and digital creative, meeting client briefs and expectations to solve their business problems. 

This role is responsible for helping to grow the capability in digital to grow the business. Currently around 50% of time will be spent on traditional writing and concepting and the remaining time will be spent on more bespoke digitally focused work. The long view is the digital aspect of this role will increase over time.

This role forms part of the Creative Team and reports to the Executive Creative Director. This position requires strong working relationships within the agency, especially with the client service and studio teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate great ideas with a strong focus on digital
  • Work with the Strategy and Technology teamsl on all agency digital strategy and creative, to help achieve better outcomes for the agency, including website, digital and social campaigns, and interactive experiential projects
  • Champion digital within the creative teams/broader agency and integrate with the team of digital designers and coders
  • Actively get involved in all creative jobs that have a digital element from initial briefing and pro-actively identify where potential digital opportunities exist within client briefs
  • Lead digital thinking and best practice across all clients and appropriate briefs / new business opportunities
  • Help to develop and implement agency processes around the implementation, execution and sign-off of digital work
  • Ably explain and sell industry-leading digital concepts to clients
  • Be up to date with trends in the digital landscape and pro-actively share with the creative team/broader agency when appropriate, and incorporate into creative solutions

Skills/Previous Experience:

  • Over 5 years-experience working in advertising agencies with at least 3 years digital experience
  • A broad understanding of commonly used production software and technical requirements
  • Copywriting – both traditional, digital, and social
  • Broad creative expertise, with an understanding of digital channel planning, social campaigns, and websites
  • A Bachelor’s degree, design emphasis preferred
  • Sound understanding of, and practical experience of, digital technologies
  • Strong understanding of the digital landscape

You are confident building strong relationships with both takeholders and colleagues, and can clearly articulate information. You will help to review more junior team members and provide constructive feedback. Your presentation skills are brilliant, and you establish close and honest relationships with others.
