AUCKLAND, Sunday: The resort-style home owned by former Saatchi & Saatchi supremo Kevin Roberts in Remuera came on the market at the weekend – for a reported $12 million.

The property – which has five bedrooms and six bathrooms – sits on 3500sq m of lush gardens in the double grammar zone, has two full-size tennis courts (graced by the likes of Monica Seles), an indoor squash court, and is festooned outdoors and in with original works of art.

“It was designed to be a resort where we could bring up three teenage kids, host our hoped-for grandchildren, entertain friends, host business events and enjoy New Zealand’s four seasons with indoor and outdoor spaces,” Roberts said.

“It is intended to stimulate the creativity inside everyone who visited the house.”

“It was built to feature inspirational and uplifting pieces from the worlds of art, music and sport – all celebrating freedom, achievement, optimism and creativity,” Roberts said. “It is intended to stimulate the creativity inside everyone who visited the house.”

Roberts told the Herald on Sunday he was selling because his children were now living all over the world and he was travelling.

The house is for sale by tender (by UP Realty) closing March 21.
