Arrivals: MediaWorks taps ops director

AUCKLAND, Thursday: MediaWorks has appointed Angus Swainson to the role of operations director, effective Monday 12 August 12.

The operations director role is a new position within MediaWorks and is responsible for executing the MediaWorks company strategy, driving operational excellence, leading change and delivering organisation results on a regular basis including the development and optimisation of existing commercial partnerships.

The position reports to MediaWorks ceo Michael Anderson, and Swainson will be a member of the MediaWorks Executive team.

He has over 20 years’ experience in media and has worked with top global brands in the UK, including Discovery Networks, Universal Studios and the English Premier League.

Swainson said: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to work with such a talented and exciting group of people bringing world class entertainment to New Zealanders.”

Anderson said: “We have identified the need for a new person on our executive team who has the ability to drive activity and change across our business and ensure we are operating in a way that maximises our business performance.

“Angus has a wealth of experience and is a proven leader in this area. We are very happy to have him on board.”
