London-based digital creative agency Phantom – now in expansion mode – has set its sights on opening an office in Auckland in 2017.

Phantom London has a staff of 38 and clients include Google, The Financial Times, Tate Modern and Sony Music.

“The talent and drive within the New Zealand industry is incredible,” says agency founder/managing director Emily Shorvon, herself a Kiwi, who graduated from AUT in 2009 with a Bachelor of Communications Studies degree.

Shorvon says basing its second studio in Auckland was “a no-brainer” considering the number of New Zealanders working for the company.

“For all the incredible skill and ambition, there needs to be more amazing places for New Zealanders to work in the digital industry,” she said. “As in London, we’re determined to give people who share our vision a place to make their work home, to be part of something special and ground breaking together.”

She says Phantom would welcome applications from NZ-based digital specialists for a number of fulltime roles. The founders will be visiting New Zealand this month to meet with applicants and potential client collaborations.
