Asia Pacific mobile ad-tech outfit Big Mobile has acquired NZ mobile advertising business Made Media in a move aimed at driving Big’s growth & products into New Zealand.

“Made Media has a great reputation in the NZ market,” said Big Mobile’s Sydney-based ceo David Green. “They have won several accolades recently including Digital Product of the Year at the IAB NZ Awards for the Near AllSpark platform they represent.

Made Media’s base is Auckland; Big has offices in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Jakarta, Singapore and Manilla. Made Media was founded in 2013 by Michael Buhagiar, vice-chair on the IAB NZ Mobile Advertising Council (and a former agency sales manager at Big Mobile Auckland).

“Big Mobile has some really good momentum in NZ right now with exclusive mobile ad tech partnerships with global leaders such as Widespace, Near, and Adswizz,” Green said.

“After thoroughly testing our mobile ad tech with NZ premium publishers and the biggest brands in NZ, the results are indicating that the time is now right to expand our NZ operations with the acquisition of Made Media.”

Michael Buhagiar said: “We’re thrilled to join Big Mobile, which is hands-down the most innovative and dynamic mobile ad tech firm in the APAC market right now.”
