Isobar brings Holden history to life

Auckland digital creative shop Isobar has picked up the Holden 60th birthday campaign that began last month with an O&M television launch.

The Isobar work, called 60 Years Loyal, is creatively less ambitious than the O&M ad – but no less arresting. It’s a series of videos designed mainly to sit on a dedicated section within www.holden.co.nz/60yearsloyal, and features Kiwi Holden owners talking about the cars they’ve loved over the years the brand has been in NZ.

The videos were shot all over New Zealand. Isobar worked with Dentsu Aegis Network sister agency Haystac to source characters and stories of interest, then partnered with directors Tim Pierce and Toby Crawford of Two Bearded Men to capture the content.

The launch coincides with a below-the-line campaign that will offer one Holden lover the opportunity to win a fully restored 1969 Holden Monaro HT GTS.

“Isobar understood the importance of paying homage to our brand and have perfectly captured its essence in this series,” said Holden marketing general manager Marnie Jane Samphier.

“Their talent in production and really getting to the heart of these stories really comes through in the vignettes and we have really enjoyed the process of working with them.

“Holden is considered a prestigious and aspirational brand here in New Zealand and we are very proud to be celebrating this milestone. I couldn’t think of a better nod to Holden’s heritage in this country than this series of stories from the people who make the brand what it is.”

Isobar general manager Grant Henderson said, “Holden have been a much loved car for generations of New Zealanders and we uncovered some fantastic stories from throughout the ages. We are really proud to have produced such a unique collection of content and hope to be working with Holden to add another one in 10 years’ time!”
