Forks Over Knives

AUCKLAND, Tuesday: Saving the planet can be bloody hard. No one knows that better than Nigel, the hero of Meridian’s latest campaign from BC&F Dentsu.

He’s the planet-saver in all of us – heroically saying “hell no” to that straw, plastic bag, or car trip, and sticking to his guns, no matter how sticky things get for him … or his beanie.

In their latest campaign – announced via paperless press release – Meridian salutes Nige and his heroic efforts, then offers an easier way – switching to them, and supporting New Zealand’s largest generator of, and biggest advocate for, 100% renewable energy.

“Nige is the planet-saving legend in all of us – reminding us that Meridian is here to save our vegan bacon.”

The campaign, created by BC&F Dentsu and directed by Adam Stevens, goes live in TV, radio, outdoor (with digital thanks to OMD).

Meridian marketing manager Michael Healy said: “As people become aware of the impacts of climate change, they’re looking for like-minded companies.

“That’s why these new ads are an approving nod to the actions big and small that Kiwis are trying to take to do right by the planet.”

Jervois Steak House?
BC&F Dentsu creative partner Bex Radford said: “Nige is the planet-saving legend in all of us – reminding us that Meridian is here to save our vegan bacon, for all those days we’ve forgotten our Keep Cup, left our reusable bags in the car, and accidentally said yes to Jervois Steak House on meat-free Monday.”
