AUCKLAND, Tuesday: Discovery New Zealand celebrated the launch of their new channel, Investigation Discovery (ID), today, by sending some dramatic cakes to media, agencies and clients across NZ.

A Discovery NZ spokesperson said: “ID is New Zealand’s new destination for true crime, screening on Sky Channel 18 – it’s packed full of real people, real cases and real life drama.

“ID has proven popular in both the US and Australia – and now it’s New Zealand’s turn!

“We have 100 cakes being delivered to key media, agencies & direct clients all across NZ”

“We have 100 cakes in total being delivered to key media [including M+AD], media agencies & a handful of our direct clients all across NZ, but the Auckland Covid lockdown will reduce the final amount actually able to be delivered today.

“We are having to re-route or postpone deliveries of some Auckland cakes. Our original plan had been for DMS [the Discovery Media Sales team] to deliver them in person – this is still possible and is in progress in Wellington and Christchurch.

“I have seen some happy recipients’ photos already, but Auckland is now by contactless courier.”

Sky launched Investigation Discovery yesterday on Sky channel 18 – formerly home to the Food Network (some content will move to the Living channel).
