AUCKLAND, Today: The Out of Home Media Association Aotearoa (OOHMAA) and Calibre Audience Measurement Limited (CAML) have announced Kath Mitchell as incoming CEO, with the appointment effective early July.

Mitchell joins from the Independent Media Agencies of New Zealand, bringing serious industry clout from senior roles at TVNZ, American Express, Air New Zealand and Sky City.

At TVNZ, she spent over a decade leading trade marketing and helped drive the launch of ThinkTV in the local market — building deep media knowledge and sharp strategic insight.

Paul Maher, Independent Chair of OOHMAA and CAML says, “We are delighted to welcome Kath as the new CEO of OOHMAA and Calibre. Kath’s extensive and highly relevant experience, combined with her energy and strong industry relationships, make her an ideal leader for this next phase.

“With the imminent launch of our unified audience measurement service, this is a pivotal and exciting time for the Out of Home industry. Kath’s appointment is a significant step in driving continued growth and innovation across the sector.”

In her new role, Mitchell will lead a growing team — including a new product manager focused on the rollout of the Audience Measurement System (AMS), and a marketing role to support industry growth.

Mitchell says she’s energised by the opportunity. “I am incredibly excited to lead this next chapter for the Out of Home industry. It is the fastest-growing media channel in New Zealand in every sense; revenue, audiences and coverage across Aotearoa. The creative and commercial potential is immense.

“I am extremely passionate about media and look forward to working with Paul and the team to build on this strong momentum.”

Mitchell takes over from Natasha O’Connor, who has led OOHMAA through a major period of growth. Maher adds, “We are extremely grateful to Natasha for her leadership and the invaluable contribution she has made to the industry’s current position.”
