AUCKLAND, Today: Nearly 47,000 fans at Saturday’s All Blacks vs Australia clash were greeted with a cheeky custom video billboard. It teased that one in four of them drove a Toyota, turning the stadium into a giant Toyota ad.
The playful moment extended Saatchi & Saatchi’s national Toyota campaign, launched in August. With one in four cars on New Zealand roads being a Toyota, the brand’s presence in everyday Kiwi life is hard to miss.
Adding to the fun, a 15-second spot ran on social. The All Blacks and Black Ferns questioned whether they were “in an ad or not,” spotlighting Toyota’s long-standing partnership with New Zealand Rugby.
“Toyota is proud to partner with New Zealand Rugby because rugby brings our nation and communities together. Our national teams continue to inspire and unite New Zealand, and we’re excited to help create experiences for Kiwis that lead to lifelong memories,” says Susanne Hardy.
