Good Fortune brings a wild twist on wealth and karma

AUCKLAND, Today: In Good Fortune, Aziz Ansari plays Arj, a guy doing odd jobs just to get by. Think delivering food, putting in disco floors, and fixing pool heaters, hustling every day.

His rich buddy Jeff (played by Seth Rogen) lives the high life in a Hollywood Hills mansion. One day, things flip when Keanu Reeves shows up as Gabriel, a “budget guardian angel,” and swaps their lives.

What starts as a lesson about wealth quickly gets messy. Arj gets to live the luxury, while Jeff has to deal with the grind and gig-economy reality. Gabriel’s heavenly plan goes off the rails, and he loses his wings in the chaos.

There are emotional beats and funny moments, though some parts feel uneven or rushed. Still, it leans into big ideas about class, struggle, and finding meaning beyond money.
