AUCKLAND, Today: Retail media player VMO just secured exclusive media rights across Dress Smart centres nationwide, expanding its fast-growing network and locking in two of New Zealand’s best-known outlet shopping destinations.

Onehunga’s Auckland site recently received an upgrade, while Christchurch continues as a major regional retail draw, both pulling strong foot traffic and a mix of local and global fashion brands.

Together, the centres attract more than 5.5 million Kiwi shoppers each year. “The Dress Smart centres offer a great opportunity for brands to connect with diverse audiences across the retail journey and on the path to purchase.

“This partnership is just another example of how our retail network continues to go from strength to strength, offering even more opportunities for our clients to connect more broadly across the country,” said Matt Tremain, Sales Director, Val Morgan New Zealand.

“We are excited to partner with VMO to bring premium digital media into our centre. Dress Smart is already a destination for millions of shoppers each year, and this partnership will enhance the customer experience while giving brands a powerful platform to connect with our shoppers,” said Lauri Solecki, Centre Manager – Dress Smart Auckland.

The deal lifts VMO’s contracted retail locations to 28, with more growth already mapped out for the year ahead. Screen installations began before last year’s Christmas rush, helping the centres hit record December traffic of more than 400,000 visitors.

“We’re one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing retail media providers, and this partnership with Dress Smart shows our ongoing commitment to the market,” said Rob Forsyth, Commercial Director, New Zealand at VMO.

“In 2026, we plan to continue our growth trajectory and roll out even more locations, further increasing our reach and providing brands and our clients more coverage and ability to reach shoppers every day,” he added.

VMO launched its retail network in August 2024 and now runs more than 170 digital screens across roughly 30% of retail sites nationwide, spanning major cities and regional hubs.
