
AUCKLAND, Today: Toyota New Zealand has teamed up with Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand to roll out a fresh campaign for the new Corolla Cross, built around one simple idea: it’s Up For Whatever.
At the heart of it is a 30-second spot following a couple who talk a big game but never actually leave home. Meanwhile, their Corolla Cross waits patiently in the driveway, ready for action.
It taps into that all-too-familiar group chat energy, where everyone’s keen in theory, but no one locks anything in. The result is a playful take on spontaneity, with a car that’s always good to go.
Steve Cochran, Chief Creative Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand, says the idea was about turning a well-worn category trope on its head.

As a compact SUV, the Corolla Cross is built for everyday life, handling everything from city errands to weekend escapes. The campaign leans into that flexibility with humour that feels close to home.

Spark Foundry New Zealand is leading the media strategy, using moment-based messaging to spotlight what the Corolla Cross could be ‘up for’ across the day, from local events to last-minute plans.
The wider rollout includes out-of-home, radio, digital display and social, all highlighting the Corolla Cross’ key features while keeping the tone light and playful.
