Kathmandu gets personal with Trailhead

AUCKLAND, Today: One pack, millions of possible versions. With so many choices, Kathmandu’s loveable companions had to split up, at least when it came to designing the packs that match their own personalities.

The hero film leans into lush fashion shots and classic comedy timing to show just how customisable the new Trailhead Pack is, turning a playful break-up story into a reminder that sometimes finding yourself means going solo.

Jack Steele and Matt Ford bring their trademark banter and outdoorsy energy to the campaign from Motion Sickness, showing how Kathmandu’s most versatile pack adapts to any personality, mood or mission.

“These days, everyone’s hanging out for a bit of connection. We’re all stuck on our phones, flat out in life, but as soon as you get into nature, everything slows down. It gives you a proper recharge.” – Jack Steele

“We’ve been wearing Kathmandu forever. It was our recent adventure trip to Kyrgyzstan that really inspired us. The gear was amazing — the mattress was next-level, and our puffers literally turned into pillows. That’s when we realised working with Kathmandu made total sense,” says Ford.

Steele says, “These days, everyone’s hanging out for a bit of connection. We’re all stuck on our phones, flat out in life, but as soon as you get into nature, everything slows down. It gives you a proper recharge.”

“Watching a sunset from a rock or hill, everything feels okay. Life’s amazing. You stop and think, ‘Alright, it’s not that bad.’ Whatever that worry was — it doesn’t matter,” Ford added.

The Trailhead Pack is Kathmandu’s first fully customisable pack, built to handle any environment while letting adventurers express their style. With colours, badges and accessories to mix and match, it’s made for showing who you are on and off the trail.
