Saatchi & Saatchi NZ chief creative officer Toby Talbot and Special Group co-founder Matty Burton (now Sydney-based creative chief at Google Zoo Asia Pacific) are just two of a handful of inspirational creative, production and technology experts will speak at Ad Stars South Korea next month.

Others in the select group include FCB New York CCO Ari Halper, JWT Singapore ECD Tay Guan Hin, DDB Group Hong Kong chief strategy officer Andreas Krasser, Focus Media Group China chief strategy officer Cindy Chen, Tracks & Fields Berlin ceo Christian Mix-Linzer, Little Black Book ed Laura Swinton, Forsman & Bodenfors Sweden board chairman Anna Qvennerstedt, BBH India ECD Vasudha Misra, Gunn Report MD Emma Wilkie, and McCann Japan CD Satoko Takada.

“Are awards healthy – or a narcissistic blight, invented purely to make us feel good about what we do?”

Talbot is also an executive judge this year.

Ad Stars 2019 will be held over three days from Thursday 23 August to Saturday 25 August in Busan, South Korea.

Matty Burton is said to be preparing a unique perspective on creativity as someone who is now leading a specialised team of creatives, technologists, producers and strategists working across Asia Pacific on Google’s most valuable and strategic partnerships.

Toby Talbot will tackle the perennial question What is the True Value of Awards? Are awards healthy or are they a narcissistic blight, invented purely to make us feel good about what we do?

His session might not provide all the answers, but he certainly has some provocative questions.
