Admission, the Auckland marketing agency founded by Rob Davis in 2002, has quietly expanded – and rebranded. “After 12 years as Admission, we decided to review our branding to more reflect our specialist digital positioning,” Davis told M+AD.

The agency now has two divisions – the Admission business now becomes a full-service digital agency, Vanilla Brief. The retirement village side of the business is now run as a traditional agency, Red Advertising, headed by former Admission partner Graham Medcalf.

Medcalf is a former editor of Marketing magazine, managing director of JWT NZ, and an executive at the NZ Marketing Association.

Vanilla Brief also recently appointed Peter Hodge as general manager. Hodge is a former Southland Times reporter who reinvented himself as a digital consultant – a role he’s performed at Tangible, the Image Centre, and Mediaweb).

Vanilla Brief has offices in Auckland, Brisbane, and Sydney – the Auckland office will shortly be moving further down High St to No 59 (the Southern Cross building), and the Sydney office will move to bigger premises in William St.

The agency’s biggest client on both sides of the Tasman is Nestlé.
