AUCKLAND, Today: AIA NZ has signed on as Major Partner for Tottenham Hotspur’s return to New Zealand, with the club set to play Auckland FC at Eden Park on Sunday 26 July 2026.
The match is part of the New Zealand International Football Festival and will open Tottenham Hotspur’s 2026 pre-season tour before the team heads to Australia for the Sydney Super Cup.
It will be Tottenham Hotspur’s first visit to New Zealand in 50 years and a major moment for Auckland FC, which will face Premier League opposition for the first time.
The fixture also gives local fans a rare opportunity to see top-level international club football played on home soil.
AIA is Tottenham Hotspur FC’s Global Principal Partner, and AIA New Zealand says supporting the match here is a natural extension of that relationship.
“We’re proud to help bring Tottenham Hotspur back to New Zealand. This is a moment fans have been waiting for and promises to be a great experience.” – Nick Stanhope, Chief Executive Officer, AIA New Zealand
“AIA’s Purpose is to help people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives. Sport plays a powerful role in inspiring healthier living, and football brings together movement, connection and community – all essential ingredients for wellbeing,” says Nick.
“We’re proud to help bring Tottenham Hotspur back to New Zealand. This is a moment fans have been waiting for and promises to be a great experience. It’s a significant moment for football in this country and a meaningful way to bring our global Spurs partnership to life locally.”
Club Ambassador Ledley King announced the visit at a press conference in Auckland today and said the team is looking forward to the trip.
“We are excited to be visiting New Zealand for just the second time in our history. The match against Auckland FC will provide a tough test ahead of the new season and a unique opportunity for the Men’s First-Team to play in a new environment and at an incredible venue in Eden Park.
“Our time in Auckland will give us the opportunity to engage with our incredible fanbase in the city, deliver football clinics for young people and celebrate local culture.”
AIA NZ will support the visit with a series of activations in the lead-up to match day, with more details to be shared closer to the event.
