AUCKLAND, Monday: Stanley St joint ECDs Lisa Fedyszyn and Jonathan McMahon have shocked the ad world by resigning “to pursue new opportunities”. CCO Regan Grafton has yet to reveal his plans for replacements.

The pair are one of the hottest creative tickets in Australasia right now, and M+AD’s heard that suitors have been knocking on their door from the USA, Europe and Asia.

But McMahon & Fedyszyn themselves are saying little, apart from confirming their exit from Stanley St. But it’s clear they leave with good wishes for – and from – their colleagues at the agency.

“Suitors have been knocking on their door from the USA and Europe.”

“The timing was right to leave,” McMahon told Aussie trade media. “We are enormously grateful to CCO Regan Grafton for giving us this opportunity, and we wish him and everyone at Stanley St all the best.”

The pair have since gone to ground, but M+AD spoke to Stanley St marketing director Huia Ngapo, who confirmed that the agency has no problems with their decision.

“It was unexpected,” she acknowledged. “But it’s a free world, and these things do happen in Agencyland.

“They have done a terrific job for Stanley St – and we wish them well for their future.”

She said Grafton would recruit replacements “immediately”.
