APN Outdoor has announced a partnership “of Olympic proportions”, joining forces with the NZ Olympic Committee as an official partner of all NZ Olympic & Commonwealth Games teams through to 2020.
“Outdoor media provides a globally consumed platform that compliments the universal appeal of the Olympic Games as well as the NZOC’s existing media partners,” says APN Outdoor GM Mike Watkins.
“The Kiwi athletes getting set for the upcoming Games are remarkable men and women. They epitomise what makes us proud to be New Zealanders and APN Outdoor can’t wait to work with the NZOC to help bring their stories and the Games campaigns to life.”
“It is an exciting schedule of games ahead with a real emphasis on the Asia Pacific region.”
Three NZ Games teams take to the world stage next year. In February 20 winter athletes will compete in the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. This is followed closely by a large team heading across the ditch for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games from 4-15 April.
Finally in 2018, October will see the very best rising stars and young athletes from around the country head to Buenos Aires, Argentina to compete in the third edition of the Summer Youth Olympic Games.
“Our outdoor media and billboards are perfect mediums to help build excitement across the country and rally support for our teams as they take on the world,” Watkins said.
NZ Olympic Committee ceo Kereyn Smith said: “We are thrilled APN Outdoor has come on board. It is an exciting schedule of games ahead with a real emphasis on the Asia Pacific region.
