New signing for the Blues: Sugar&Partners has lured account manager Dan Hughes away from Ogilvy to work on the Blues and Daikin Australasia accounts.

Hughes (a qualified lawyer) spent two years on the Rebel Sport account overseeing new brand work – notably a campaign featuring hard man Brad Thorne delivering a poetic eulogy to winter sports.

“Dan’s a smart young suit on the rise and is sports mad into the bargain – which is a good fit for the Blues.  As an Aussie – he’s also going to be great for our trans Tasman account Daikin.” -says co- CD Damon O’Leary.

Hughes is one of a number of new appointments at S&P with more announcements to be made in the coming weeks following a number of new business wins for the K-Rd based agency.

Events shop recruits top actor: Newton-based Australasian events/experiential agency Uno Loco has appointed NZ-based Australian actor Mark Ferguson (Shortland Street, Lord of the Rings) as a group account director.

Ferguson previously founded and ran events company Ovation Entertainment, and has worked at TVNZ in various roles on and off for the past 18 years.

“Uno Loco has a wide range of resources including experiential, media, design and events,” Ferguson said. “I can’t wait to show new and existing clients how we can bring all that together to deliver exceptional results. Incentive experiences are a personal passion, so watch this space.”
