AUCKLAND, Today: The Comms Council has announced that Axis Speaks is back after a four-year hiatus with a line-up of world-class creatives. The event will take place on Thursday 23 March at Shed 10, Auckland.

Axis Speaks is a premier event for New Zealand’s creative advertising community. This year’s powwow aims to inspire a broader audience, including clients, CEOs, CFOs, and other members of the business community.

  • The first speaker to be announced is Susan Credle, New York-based global chair & global CCO of FCB. She is known is a passionate advocate for diversity in the industry and is the first female chair of The One Club for Creativity.
  • The second speaker is Rydr Tracy, head of educational transformation at Creatable. His presentation will explore the future of education and how it can better prepare students for the challenges of the future.
  • Nils Leonard, creative star at Uncommon London. He has spent 20 years in the advertising and design industries, working at some of the most recognised agencies in London. In 2017, he founded Uncommon Creative Studio, which aims to build brands that people in the real world actually wish existed. His presentation will focus on how creativity can make a positive impact on society and the world.
  • The final speaker is Ray Edwards – a director and cinematographer who’s made a name for himself in the film industry over the past 13 years. His debut feature film Cousins made him the second Māori cinematographer to shoot a feature film

In addition, the winners of the Aotearoa Young Lions Competition will be announced at the end of the event.

The Axis Award winners will also be revealed at the awards show to be held later that evening.

Axis Speaks runs 8.30am-12.30pm; Axis Awards 6pm – till late.
