AUCKLAND, Wednesday: Dentsu Creative has appointed Ian Hulme to lead its digital experience offering as the agency cements its integrated creative capabilities.

Following the global launch of Dentsu Creative at Cannes this year, Dentsu Creative Aotearoa is continuing to add cross-discipline experience and creative expertise to its leadership team.

Hulme joins the agency after five years at IBM Consulting, working across experience design and business transformation. Before IBM, he joined BNZ as head of digital marketing, following many years working across digital and innovation strategy agency-side.

Dentsu Creative MD Murray Streets said: “Ian is one of those rare agency talents who can effortlessly transition between worlds. His career to date is a testament to this. We are thrilled that when he decided to return to the agency world, it was with our team.

“Creativity is needed now more than ever to differentiate a brand’s digital experience.”

“Our team has exceptional foundations in design experience, built on the pedigree of Little Giant and Isobar. Ian’s appointment, alongside the other talents in our team, will amplify our ability to provide truly integrated solutions for our client partners.

“Consumers are struggling to distinguish one brand from another as digital experiences have become homogenised. Designing frictionless, intuitive interfaces can lead to functional, run of the mill experiences.

“Creativity is needed now more than ever to differentiate a brand’s digital experience.”

Hulme said: “I’m excited and proud to join Murray and the team at Dentsu Creative. The agency’s view on modern creativity, combined with tech, data, media and CXM skills across Dentsu Aotearoa makes for a compelling proposition.”

The appointment is effective immediately.
