AUCKLAND, Wednesday: More details are emerging about our mystery adman Richard King, who died *recently.

Marsden Inch consultant Barry Williamson remembers him well: “I worked with Richard in the late ’70s at Dobbs Wiggins McCann Erickson.

“He was a media manager and from memory worked mainly on the Air New Zealand account at the time.

“Richard had a wicked sense of humour, drier than the driest red and was always accompanied by his cigarette and more often than not, a beer in the other hand.

“He was a bloody good media strategist, liked by clients and agency colleagues alike.”

“He was a bloody good media strategist, liked by clients and agency colleagues alike. “He should have been on the BBC with his wonderful deep ‘radio’ voice.

“I haven’t seen Richard since he left the agency, but having seen the announcement, the memories came flooding back.

“My thoughts go out to Ann and Richard’s extended family.”
