CHRISTCHURCH, Today: Canterbury-based indie Harvey Cameron (offices in both the South and North Island) has made four people redundant.

“While it’s been a difficult time, we’ve come through in solid shape and we’re looking forward to the future,” PR manager Jo de Joux told M+AD.

“But these tell only part of the story – with over 100 laid off by dozens of small agencies in trouble (see accompanying story).”

This brings to around 34 the number of people laid off by the network agencies (including Saatchi 4, Colenso 12, FCB & DDB (“single digit”), and our two biggest independent agencies – Stanley St (4) and Harvey Cameron (4).

But these tell only a small part of a much larger story – with over 100 people laid off by the dozens of small comms agencies in trouble around the country (see accompanying story).
