AUCKLAND, Today: Localist has rolled out its Free Website Initiative, offering small businesses across New Zealand a professionally built website at no cost, helping them grow online without the usual stress or expense.
Since 2010, the platform has supported more than 230,000 Kiwi businesses. Now it’s making website creation hassle-free, with no agency costs or half-finished DIY templates to worry about.
The initiative also extends to charities and not-for-profits. Every business that signs up gets the option to make a one-off donation to support a cause of their choice.
“If we help you grow, you can help others grow too.” – Quentin van Heerden
“The idea is simple,” said Quentin van Heerden, founder of Localist Free Website. “If we help you grow, you can help others grow too.” Van Heerden said the aim was to “level the playing field” for Kiwi businesses struggling to keep up online during uncertain financial times.
“We’re giving free websites to Kiwis with passion. Not DIY templates. Not half-finished pages. Fully built, professionally designed websites – hosted, supported, and ready to help you win online.”
The application takes just two minutes, with participants only covering hosting costs through Localist’s New Zealand partner, Hosting Harbour.
“If you love supporting New Zealand local like we do, and you want a website built for you for free, this is the time to make it happen,” said van Heerden.
