AUCKLAND, Today: Go Media has launched a trial of its new in-bus digital advertising format across more than 450 buses in the Wellington region.

The trial, in partnership with Greater Wellington Regional Council, will run on over 1,000 internal screens and kicks off this week with a promo for Saturday’s Hurricanes vs Moana Pasifika clash at Sky Stadium.

It’s the latest expansion of Go Media’s national DOOH network and marks a new chapter in transit-based media. The format delivers high-impact, contextually relevant messaging to one of the country’s busiest public transport audiences — with a record 26 million passenger trips taken across the Wellington network last year.

The new in-bus screens can also deliver live messaging, including emergency updates and real-time transport info for commuters.

“This is an exciting new product for us to bring to market – a fresh way to reach commuters in a more dynamic environment.” – Craig Strachan

“This is an exciting new product for us to bring to market – a fresh way to reach commuters in a more dynamic environment,” says Go Media Group Sales Manager Craig Strachan.

“And what better partner to help us trial it than the Hurricanes – a team that’s deeply connected to the region and its people.”

Go Media sponsors both the Hurricanes and the surging Moana Pasifika side, making the upcoming fixture an easy fit to put the new format through its paces.

The tech allows advertisers to reach targeted routes or entire depots — opening the door for large-scale, consistent brand exposure across the network.

This in-bus trial reflects Go Media’s continued investment in innovation and its ambition to diversify how brands connect with Kiwi audiences.
