AUCKLAND, Wednesday: Outdoor advertising experts Go Media have appointed Frank Costello as commercial director. Previously, he was operations director at iSite-QMS for 18 years and most recently has been contracting.

Go Media managing director Mike Gray said: “With ambitions to aggressively develop Go Media’s out-of-home asset portfolio across large and small formats, the time is right to appoint a commercial director to the task.

“Frank has had near 20 years’ experience in the OOH category, developing billboard sites for landlords and businesses.

“In 2004 our paths crossed when Frank was appointed GM of Waho to replace me, as I had just sold to George Gould.

“Over a three-month period we worked together and acquired Kool in Wellington and iSite in Auckland which was Paul Kenny’s billboard company (he then went on to create the postering company Shout).

“I spent years competing with Frank. It’ll be great to work with him again because he is the best in our industry at what he does.”

“The three companies were merged and branded iSite and that company ultimately went on to become QMS.

“I came back into the market in 2009 and then spent years competing with Frank, so it’ll be great to finally work with him again, because he is a terrific operator and in my opinion he is the best in our industry at what he does.”

Costello said, “I am really excited to join the vibrant and active team at Go Media to unleash the next stages of the business growth as the business has so much potential. I was drawn to Go Media as they are solely focussed on out-of-home and that is where my passion lies.”

He started at the end of last year.
