The NZ arm of LA-based production company Graffiti Media has launched 360-degree technology – six mounted Go-Pro cameras which shoot combined 360-degree panoramic movable images, navigated with your mouse, to make content for social media.

“The 360-degree videos allow viewers to feel the action from all angles and directions in the best possible way and can choose what they want to see with no limits,” says Graffiti NZ producer Bali Virk.

360-degree VR (360-degree virtual reality) is an audiovisual simulation of an altered, augmented or substituted environment that surrounds the user, allowing them to look around them in all directions, just as they can in real life.

“Despite the fact that it is a new, advanced technology, the 360 videos are already supported by the social media platforms Facebook and YouTube.”

The company is already teasing the NZ market with new 360 video experiences of some of Auckland’s most popular destinations. The one we feature here stars Bachelorette contender Alysha Brown exploring her new hometown, Auckland, by bicycle.

“Graffiti Media – which has offices in Wellington & Auckland – can shoot, do the post-production and upload the film onto the desired social media platform such as Facebook page or YouTube channel,” says Virk.

Staffers include exec producer Julian Sydney, director Iain McLean, Wellington-based director Ellory Elkayem, producer Bali Virk, online/offline editor Connie Foster, PA Louise Justesen, branding/creative Phoebe Miller, and 3D/animation graphic designer Monti Isaar.

The company was founded by Kiwis Sydney and McLean (who also has a US Green Card)
