AUCKLAND, Friday: Indie creative agency Run has picked up two Gold Pins at the annual NZ Best Design Awards for their Pride in Lights interactive installation for Auckland Council.

Run CD Raymond McKay said: “This a great achievement to be acknowledged amongst our peers here in Aotearoa.”

The same project, which celebrated the Pride Festival in February, picked up a Communication Arts Award earlier in the year.

Run design director Laura Cibilich said: “We’re really proud of our whole team for these accolades, reflecting all the hard work they’ve put into what has been a challenging and whirlwind year for everyone”.

“The judges: ‘This project is pure fun’.”

The Best Award judges said: “This project is pure fun. Embodying the spirit and pride of the LBGTQ+ community, it boldly uses colour, light and technology to create a celebration with which the community can engage. Such a delightful and engaging installation woven into the city fabric.”

Aussie finalists
Run has also just been named finalists in three categories in the Australian Graphic Design Awards, and their designer Maria Philp has been named as a finalist in the Emerging Designer category.
