CHRISTCHURCH, Today: Merivale-based full-service indie Harvey Cameron has appointed Gareth O’Connor to the position of GM – client service.

He joins from PHD Auckland, where he was group strategy director both in a global role with Unilever and within the Auckland office.

He has been living in Canterbury with his family for the last 18 months and commuting to Auckland.

“The time came for me to find a role in Christchurch and I couldn’t be happier to have started with the team and great group of clients at Harvey Cameron,” O’Connor said.

“Getting better each year is what drives me. With Harvey Cameron I see so much opportunity to better myself, but also so much opportunity to help the people and the business get better, ensuring we keep producing the best work for our clients to make their businesses better too.”

O’Connor has 18 years’ experience in the media & advertising industry, including seven years in London and 11 years in NZ. His career spans both media and creative agency, working on a wide range of clients, including ANZ, Foodstuffs, Lotto NZ, Spark, Mercedes-Benz, Farmers, Unilever and MediaWorks.

He is a regular guest speaker at Comms Council training courses, and is a regular on their Strategy Lab & Media Lab courses.
