The Global Awards 2015 competition has issued its call for entries. The Globals, which honour excellence in healthcare communications, will this year again hold twin awards ceremonies in New York City and in Sydney (in December).

Global Awards executive directors Michael Demetriades and Caroline Poon have launched several new categories for the 2015 competition including Best Use of Media: Technology, Advertising to the Consumer/Patient: Promotional Marketing, and Business to Business: Self Promo.

“The Global Awards is dedicated to evaluating emerging trends and technologies in the industry to insure that our categories mirror the constantly evolving healthcare and wellness landscape,” said Poon. “Our new categories support the goal of the Global Awards to recognise all the diverse industries creating works for healthcare and wellness communications.”

The Best Use of Media: Technology category will honour innovation and creativity in areas including wearable technology, augmented reality, smart tech apps, patient-generated data, and other upcoming technology which will evolve the industry’s personalisation of diagnostics, treatments, and preventative measures & actions for both healthcare professionals and consumers. The category showcases works leading the future of technology in health and wellness.

The Advertising to the Consumer/Patient: Promotional Marketing category will recognise the variety of methods used to market to the consumer/patient, these methods empower patients and target a direct relationship with them via patient learning programmes, and patient instruction. The category also aims to shine the spotlight on creative work showcasing CRM, CSR (corporate social responsibility), brand reminders, brochures/annual reports, corporate identity, and product launch.

The Business to Business: Self Promo category showcases showcasing agency and corporate self-promotion campaigns.

Entry fees for the 2015 Global Awards are: US$355 (NZ$494) for a single entry; US$595 (NZ$828) for Campaign in Single Media; US$695 (NZ$969) for a Campaign in Mixed Media; and US$60 (NZ$84) for Young Globals student entry (Entries will be accepted for the Young Globals student competition beginning in September 2015).
