AUCKLAND, Today: Ten thousand Splore festival-goers had a new friend to party with at this year’s event, as HRV’s Harvey the Dog joined them in the mosh pit for the three-day music and lifestyle festival.
Harvey – created by Karangahape Road indie The Goat Farm and Flux Animation – was there to front the HRV Cool Zone. The Zone was a collaboration between HRV, Vector Powersmart and Stratos Energy.
It featured an inflatable tent and chill-out zone with air conditioning powered by a solar + battery trailer being trialled for the first time at the event.
“Getting up close and personal with 10,000 hot and happy Aucklanders was a great way to bring our cooling and ventilation promise to life.”
Inside, visitors could enjoy an HRV Cool Breeze ice block. Made by Nice Blocks, the uniquely flavoured treats were the result of a radio promo run by HRV with The Breeze, and managed by Sneakers Media.
For HRV’s GM of marketing Chris Masterson the event was a great way to connect directly with customers and get HRV’s cool messaging across at a summer event – even though Covid-19 lockdowns saw it postponed a month.
“Harvey has been a fantastic way to communicate our promise of ‘love the feeling of coming home’ through advertising,” Masterson says.
“But not everyone engages with those channels – so getting up close and personal with 10,000 hot and happy Aucklanders was a great way to bring our cooling and ventilation promise to life.”
