iSite Media has switched on “the largest digital billboard in New Zealand”, The Victoria in downtown Auckland.

The spectacular CBD billboard forms a key part of iSite’s Aura branded digital collection, aimed at targeting high profile locations and building a network of sites that will deliver coverage across NZ.

The screen is 15 stories high on the corner of Victoria & Hobson. At 8m wide, 16m high it is visible from over 1km across the the city.

iSite ceo Wayne Chapman says The Victoria has generated unprecedented advertiser demand – the partners at launch are Adidas, Air NZ, Coca-Cola, Holden, SKY TV and Spark.

iSite Media is investing millions of dollars into digital screens across New Zealand, Chapman says “The Victoria represents the ambition of iSite Media to deliver world-class digital outdoor advertising to New Zealand.

“This site is a culmination of thousands of hours of work and investment in the latest digital screen technology. It joins our existing Aura collection as the beginning of a significant rollout of both network and spectacular digital billboards over the coming months.”

Outdoor advertising in New Zealand grew by 8% last year and across the world significant growth has come from digital outdoor. Chapman says he expects digital outdoor to drive 30% growth in the outdoor market in the next five years.

iSite says it has “over 34% of the total New Zealand outdoor advertising market”. In 2011, iSite was acquired by NZX-listed infrastructure specialist Infratil
