Kathmandu blurs the line between outside and home

AUCKLAND, Today: We’re spending more time indoors than ever, and for many, nature’s become something to avoid. Kathmandu’s new campaign Outside, your comfort zone invites people to rediscover the joy and freedom of being outdoors again.

Filmed across the Coromandel Peninsula with a full Kiwi crew, Outside, your comfort zone reimagines the outdoors as a place that feels like home. It captures authentic, unpolished moments of real people enjoying nature in their own quiet ways.

The campaign reflects Kathmandu’s belief that wellbeing starts outdoors. It’s not about conquering the elements, but about how time outside makes us feel inside — grounded, calm, and connected.

“For us, the outdoors isn’t just about the strenuous climbs to the summit, or the battle with extreme environments.” – Jo O’Sullivan, General Manager of Marketing

Kathmandu General Manager of Marketing Jo O’Sullivan says, “For us, the outdoors isn’t just about the strenuous climbs to the summit, or the battle with extreme environments. It’s about the small moments that bring stillness, grounding and revival. Everyone should experience this transformative power of nature.

“Through Outside, your comfort zone, we hope to inspire our communities to reconnect with the outdoors, with gear not just designed to protect you from the elements, but to bring you closer to them, confidently and comfortably.”

Every production choice was made to heighten emotion and warmth. Digital footage was scanned onto 35mm film, and bespoke soundscapes were created to immerse viewers even deeper in the experience.

Outside, your comfort zone is now live across TV, digital, outdoor, and in-store platforms in both New Zealand and Australia.
