SYDNEY, Thursday: MediaCom Australia has appointed Kiwi Matthew Vogts to the newly created role of ANZ chief growth officer AUNZ, responsible for client and agency business development across its Australian and New Zealand businesses.

Vogts, who is currently MediaCom NZ MD (and a Comms Council board member) will move to Sydney in April to take up the new role. Before joining MediaCom, he was business director at PHD NZ.

The chief growth officer will work alongside MediaCom’s senior leadership teams “to evolve and deepen MediaCom’s successful partnerships in the region”.

Sydney-based MediaCom ANZ ceo Willie Pang said: “Matt is a world-class talent and I’m humbled that he has chosen to take on this critical responsibility.

“He will serve as an incredible advocate for clients and help us to lead the market with transformational ideas and solutions.”

“We’re stoked to keep a talented operator like Matt within the GroupM network.”

Vogts said: “Marketing now delivers more enterprise value than any other business function, but remains the least measurable part of the business.

“I’m excited to help our partners unlock this opportunity and identify new ways for marketing to drive meaningful business impact. MediaCom has some of the best minds in the industry and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue my career with the company”

MediaCom is part of WPP ANZ.

Auckland-based GroupM/WPP NZ ceo Chris Riley said: “Matt has done an outstanding job in evolving and growing the MediaCom business in New Zealand.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity and a natural extension of his capabilities to take on a role that builds on this record. We’re stoked to keep a talented operator like Matt within the GroupM network.”
