AUCKLAND, Today: Independent media agency Together marked 1st December 2025 as Independents’ Day to celebrate the arrival of the 5th edition of the NZ Government Procurement rules.

The updated rules encourage stronger support for Kiwi-owned businesses, especially on smaller contracts. They’re designed to give NZ-owned agencies clearer consideration in government procurement decisions from here on.

To celebrate, Together’s new Wellington team declared 1st December Independents’ Day with a full-page ad in The Post and outdoor placements across the CBD. They also shared the lock-up so other indie agencies could join in. The campaign was created in-house by Co:Lab with input from John Plimmer and Duncan Munro.

“These changes are significant for New Zealand-owned independent agencies.” – Annabelle Wilkinson, Managing Director of Media, Wellington at Together

“These changes are significant for New Zealand-owned independent agencies,” said Annabelle Wilkinson, Managing Director of Media, Wellington at Together.

“They mean government decision-making should further prioritise NZ businesses that keep profits in New Zealand, employ and nurture NZ talent and continue to deliver world class work from New Zealand for New Zealand.

“We’re delighted to have marked the moment with our indie friends and are looking forward to working further with government agencies to support this change.”

Together is one of New Zealand’s leading independent media agencies, recently named Media Agency of the Year at the 2025 IAB Awards, with offices in Auckland and Wellington.
