AUCKLAND, Today: McCann Group New Zealand is reshaping its leadership as it pushes deeper into integration, appointing Zac Stephenson as Managing Director, Media and promoting Terri Collier to the new group role of Chief Client Officer.

From 9 March, Stephenson leads the media division, steering strategy and commercial direction while partnering closely with Collier across clients and teams.

Collier’s role puts client needs front and centre, linking creative, media and specialist services across the Omnicom network for a more seamless, accountable experience.

Previously at FCB Media, Collier oversaw major partnerships including Vodafone’s account, its shift to One NZ, and expansion into analytics and creative collaboration.

“As Chief Client Officer, my focus is helping them access the best of the Omnicom ecosystem across creative, media, data and analytics, marketing tech, earned and commerce, without the usual silos and handoffs that slow things down.” – Terri Collier

Collier also helped strengthen the agency’s 46-year relationship with Mitre 10, supporting digital and data transformation while maintaining the foundations behind the long-standing partnership.

The pair reunite after previously working together at DDB, bringing an established partnership and shared leadership approach into McCann’s next phase.

“It’s a hugely exciting time to be taking on this role. With the scale of the country’s largest marketing services business, an outstanding client roster and the strength of Omnicom behind us, we’re in a unique position to redefine what modern media partnership looks like in New Zealand.”

“This role has been shaped by what our clients need right now: less complexity, better integration, and work that actually delivers.

“I’m also genuinely excited to be working again with Zac as he steps into the MD role. Launching our new integrated media offering within the McCann Group is a big moment for us, and we’re focused on building a new model that’s properly joined up, future-ready, and built for what clients are asking for next.”

“These appointments are about building a leadership team that reflects where we’re going as a business — more connected, more accountable and more ambitious for our clients. Terri and Zac bring proven chemistry and a shared vision for what integrated partnership should look like.”

Stephenson brings 26 years’ experience across New Zealand and the UK, known for leading transformations, award-winning strategies and high-performing teams.

Collier adds more than two decades of leadership across agencies and markets, recognised for strong commercial focus and lasting client partnerships.

Together, the appointments support McCann’s shift toward a fully connected model uniting creative, media, data, martech, commerce and earned capabilities under one roof.
